Luckily they don’t ask you to pronounce the name of this Belgian steakhouse to let you in. Otherwise, we sure would be missing out an opportunity to taste nice steak cuts and offal specialties.
Viva M’Boma is a small restaurant with difficult name to remember, in the heart of Brussels. Name and their contrasty color scheme helps them create a distinct look and an interesting identity.Strong black and white design and simplicity can also be seen on the design of the menu.White tiles, with black chair rail tiles and white marble tables provides a refreshing and pleasant feeling in an otherwise small seating area.Viva M’Boma’s entrance-side (street-side) seatingViva M’Boma’s second seating area feels a little more crowded than the street-side.Filet de Boeuf covered with a delicious ruccola-parmesan salad. Steak was one of the best that we had tasted in Belgian and could rival any steakhouse in Europe.We played safe (instead of going for a more daring offal variety) and went for a Joue de Veau (calf cheeks). Dish was very well prepared and tasted as succulent as it looked.Decided to split a Dame Blanche as meal portions were pretty adequate.Bill was pretty okay by Belgian standards, placing Viva M’Boma a above average but not luxurious.
