Monsieur Bleu // Paris

Our latest discovery, the restaurant Monsieur Bleu inside Palais de Tokyo, Paris. Our visits to this district are always ‘Palais de Tokyo’ oriented. Can easily say now that Monsier Bleu gave us another reason to go there.

Monsieur Bleu’s biggest highlight comes from its immaculate art deco interior design. Large soft toned suspension lights are the most imposing piece and architect Joseph Dirand’s vision made the best use of the exceptionally high ceilings.

Entrance to Monsieur Bleu was not as welcoming as we would expect but I’m guessing this ‘out-of-order’ness was due to being a new restaurant.

Another advantage of Monsieur Bleu is the number of tables outside. Paris might not get much sunshine but when it does it becomes one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

Waiting staff’s attire complements the atmosphere nicely.

The bar felt a little bit isolated and too square-ish to my taste. Dark dore and green were complimenting each other beautifully though.
monsieurB_6
Marbles with green and gray texture were absolutely amazing adding a lot of character to the interior.

Golden wall-mounted lights and undulating texture on the wall were a perfect match, giving you the feeling that it was simple in design yet very sophisticated in detail.

Some tables are in a more secluded area, making it easier to welcome larger groups .

Another view of the main room.

Detail on the undulating wall and dore lights.

Menu can be considered simple and traditional in terms of choices yet every each item had some characteristics that differentiated them from the ordinary.
monsieurB_19
Gambas Black Tiger was great in terms of taste and combination. Wouldn’t mind a slightly larger serving.

Dorade Royale with its mushrooms (girolles)
monsieurB_21
Dorade Royale’s presentation was pretty straight forward, yet attention to detail was remarkable.
monsieurB_24
Some ice-cream with strawberry coulis to finish it off.
monsieurB_26
Monsieur Bleu is a little on the expensive side considering that we shared the starter and the desert. However our overall impression was pretty positive and it was money well-spent.

A stroll in the afternoon near ‘Palais de Tokyo’ where you can find contemporary art exhibitions is a perfect way to finish off the afternoon.
